Michaelis Build & Development is the family builder for people who want a modern mountain or Salt Lake home without a foggy budget. We also take large-scale remodels and a few commercial projects. Fixed builder fee. Weekly meetings. A short project list, on purpose.

OUR PROCESS

Start with the vision. We’ll help with the rest.

  • We discuss your needs, concerns, and priorities for the project. We want to get to know you in depth so we can help create a space that reflects your ideas. We will also discuss budget in order to determine a scope that will work within your resources. We’re happy to work with your architect and designer, or help connect you with the best partners for your project.

  • Once we have an understanding of your project’s unique needs and scope, we work on creating a detailed preliminary estimate for the project. Project planning and estimating is a process. We work directly with the design team, our trade partners, and the clients to build a thorough estimate and scope of work. We facilitate a value engineering process to match the project goals to the budget.

  • Once the final design and budget for your project are completed, we move on to the construction phase. We use an online project management system that gives you access to items such as project timeline, budget, and selections, giving you peace of mind throughout the build. We also hold frequent client meetings either on-site or via zoom.

The budget is a document, not a surprise.

Transparent costs. Actual construction cost plus an agreed fee. No hidden markup discovered at drywall.

Fixed builder fee. Set before we start. It does not climb when you change a finish.

Weekly meetings. Decisions, schedule, and budget on a standing call or on site.

Owner on the job. Sean is the general contractor on every project, not a name on the proposal.
